From tropical North Queensland to the Sunshine Coast’s stunning beaches and hinterland, getting between two of Queensland’s favourite holiday destinations is about to get even easier.
Jetstar is extending its direct Sunshine Coast-Cairns service until October 2027, adding more than 34,000 extra seats to the route.
Originally scheduled to finish in March, the extension is a welcome boost for regional tourism, giving locals more opportunities to head north and making it easier for Cairns visitors to experience everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
The seasonal service, which launched in late 2024, is the only direct air link between the two destinations.
Jetstar will operate three return flights a week — Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays — from March 30, 2027, with fares starting at $94 one way.
The service will have seasonal breaks, including October to December and February to early March.
And there’s a bonus for travellers: Sunshine Coast Airport is offering 30% off parking for eligible travel between April 12 and September 15, 2027. Book by October 7, 2026, using code CAIRNS.
With more seats, low fares and a direct connection between coast and tropics, Queensland adventures just got a little easier.
