Sanctuary Church Set to Open Landmark Facility at Mons on August 3

A new era is about to begin for one of the Sunshine Coast’s most community-minded congregations. Sanctuary Church, the future home of Life Church, has officially announced that it will hold its first Sunday service on August 3 at its striking new location at 75 Tanawha Tourist Drive, Mons, just off the southbound Bruce Highway.

This impressive new development marks a milestone for the Life Church congregation, which has outgrown its long-standing home in Warana. Now, with seating for nearly 800 people and state-of-the-art facilities, this “next-generation home for our community” is ready to welcome locals from all walks of life.

A New Beacon on the Bruce Highway
Visible from the Bruce and set on a sprawling 5.56-hectare site, Sanctuary Church’s new building is more than just a place of worship—it’s a vibrant community hub. The 3,922sqm facility features a wide array of amenities designed to serve families, children, and community members across generations.

Among its many features are:
• A 790-seat auditorium with modern audio-visual infrastructure
• A fully equipped Life Kids children’s wing
• A gym and parents’ room
• Multiple training rooms and ancillary spaces
• An administration wing with a boardroom, offices, and a reception
• 267 on-site car parking spaces

The design clearly reflects a vision not just for spiritual gatherings, but for building community, supporting families, and providing practical support to those in need.

A Legacy of Compassion and Community Impact

The land, once home to the Forest Glen Deer Sanctuary, has a rich local history. Now, it’s being revitalized with a fresh purpose—to serve as a centre for hope, connection, and outreach.

Since its founding in 1989, Life Church has steadily expanded its reach across the Sunshine Coast. Under the leadership of Pastors Ashley and Alison Goode, the church has established strong ties with organisations including women’s refuges, Oz Harvest, Queensland Police, hospitals, aged care facilities, and mental health support services.

Their ethos is clear: “We support families, children, young people and retirees to build an inclusive community of people who reach beyond themselves and make a tangible difference in their world.”

Real Estate with Real Heart

For locals and newcomers alike, Sanctuary Church’s new facility is a welcome addition to the Sunshine Coast hinterland—not just for its architectural footprint, but for its lasting social impact. As a local real estate agent, I see firsthand how strong community anchors like this influence where families choose to live, invest, and grow.

With easy highway access, a stunning natural setting, and a clear focus on service and connection, this facility is set to become a beloved landmark—and a powerful drawcard—for the greater Tanawha and Mons area.
