Mark Officer from Jaz Realty shines the spotlight on Life and Light Candles
At the Yandina Street Fair on Sunday, I had the pleasure of chatting with Bec from Life and Light Candles—and what an inspiring story she has to share!
Bec’s passion shines through every part of her business. She’s built Life and Light Candles around the values of recycling and reusing, making sure each candle is as kind to the environment as it is beautiful in your home. Did you know it takes three whole days to make just one candle? That’s the level of care and craftsmanship she pours into her creations.
Her journey started two years ago at the Yandina Markets, but in the past six months she’s taken things more online—while still loving the chance to connect with locals at markets and events. With 10 gorgeous fragrances and colours to choose from, it’s no surprise that people are drawn not only to the scents but also to the stunning pots she creates them in.
The spark for Life and Light Candles actually began when Bec met Connor. When he asked her what she truly loved, he noticed her room was filled with candles. His question—“Have you thought about making them yourself?”—lit the flame for what would become her business. Combining her love for botanicals and oils, each candle holds around 30–40ml of pure, Australian-sourced oils.
For Bec, candles aren’t just a product—they’re a way of life. To her, they’re about slowing down, unwinding, and creating atmosphere: “Light a candle, put on some good music, and just chill.”
If you haven’t discovered Life and Light Candles yet, they’re definitely worth exploring—whether you’re after a unique gift, something to brighten your own home, or simply a moment of calm in your day.
You can find Bec online and at local markets—supporting her means supporting a passionate local business right here in our community.
